DETAILS OF WINNING TROPHY DESIGN
A CRA 2003 Trophy Design Competition was extended to the students of four design schools, namely Nanyang Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and Lasalle-SIA. Organised by the SSC, its aim was to create a unique trophy that embodies the qualities of our remarkable coaches. The winning design by Mr Ang Yau Fei of Nanyang Polytechnic constitutes these winning elements:
Signifies the endeavour for coaching excellence (via talent identification, talent nurturing and talent moulding) and its fundamentals (the art, science and creativity in coaching).
Represents the crystal clear objective and goal of bringing out the best in athletes, via strong commitment in coaching, guidance, and mentoring.
Represents a global outlook and the keen 'eyes' of coaches in identifying and nurturing talents.
Exudes an upward and outward feel, like the hands of potter (coach) moulding a lump of clay into an exquisite shape (athlete).
