Membership Policies
1. Membership Categories

Honorary Membership:
  • Council Members of the Singapore Sports Council
  • Staff of Singapore Sports Council
  • Coaches and lecturers in the SSC's Coaching and Training Schemes
  • Corporate membership scheme for National Sports Associations ( NSAs)

Associate Membership
  • Singapore Physical Education Association ( SPEA ) Members
  • NROC Coaches
  • Organisation/Associations who are affiliated to the Singapore Sports Council.

Individual Membership
  • Singapore Citizens
  • Permanent Residents holding blue NRIC.

Student Membership
  • Singapore Citizens
  • Permanent Residents holding blue NRIC.
  • Local full-time students from secondary schools, polytechnics and tertiary institutions.

Corporate Membership
  • Staff from registered private and commercial schools, institutions, firms and companies. The firm/organisation will undertake full responsibility for all loans and outstanding liabilities incurred by the nominees.
  • For online corporate membership registration, applicant who apply on behalf of the organisation must submit a letter duly signed by their management when they come down to make their payment or to collect their membership card. This is inform the library staff that they have authorised 3 staff members to borrow materials on behalf of the organisation.
  • Each corporate membership will be given 2 membership cards per application. Each card can borrow 4 books and 3 Audio-Visual Items from the loan collection.

  • Organisations may apply for multiple corporate membership subject to approval by the Singapore Sports Council. They will be charged accordingly for each corporate membership at $60.00 per application. Please make payment by cash or cheque made payable to "Singapore Sports Council".


2. Membership Registration
  • The registration of membership is conducted during the library opening hours.


3. Membership Card
  • All associate, individual and student members can use their NRIC as a membership card to borrow library books and audio-visual materials.
  • Membership card will be issued to the corporate member only or authorised user registered under corporate membership.
  • A fee of $5.00 will be charged for replacement of every library card.


4. Membership Rules
  • Members are held responsible for all items borrowed under their names.
  • Members should inform library of any changes in their addresses and personal particulars.
  • Corporate members must notify the Librarian immediately of any changes in the particulars of its staff who are authorised to borrow the library materials.
  • Membership is no longer valid upon expiry date.
  • Membership is subject to annual renewal.
  • The Librarian reserves the right to turn down an application without reasons assigned.


5. Confidentiality of Information
  • SSC Sports Library will maintain strict confidentiality of membership record. Such information may only be released to another individual or organisation with consent from the member. The written notification must be dated and include the name to whom the information is given and the specific information required.
