Workplace Health & Sports Promotion Grant (WHSP)
The Singapore Sports Council's latest initiative with the Health Promotion Board (HPB) is designed to encourage health, sports and physical activity programmes in the workplace. Companies and organisations with more than 30 employees may be eligible for funding of sports programmes, workshops, events and clinics to promote sports awareness and participation.

The Grant comprises two parts: Health Promotion and Sports & Physical Activity. Companies may apply for matching funds up to $5,000 via both avenues. Organisations qualifying through both lines may receive up to $10,000 annually.

Creating a sporting culture in the workplace carries multiple benefits: higher staff morale, a more productive workforce, greater camaraderie within the company, increased commitment to teamwork, and a lower absenteeism rate.

Objectives of the Workplace Health & Sports Promotion Grant:
To promote a holistic and balanced lifestyle for working adults through health & sports programmes in the workplace

To promote sports participation in organisations and to get buy-ins from senior management using a top-down approach with WHSP as an incentive

  • To encourage organisations to expand existing sports initiatives

  • To encourage organisations to launch new projects to raise sports participation and grow a sporting culture within the corporate framework

  • To improve access for working adults to sports programmes by implementing them in the workplace
