Be Involved If you are part of an organisation that has yet to embrace sports, start by being involved with youth sports. You can do this by showing your support to your staff and their children and organise sporting events centred on building the next generation through sports.
Be Supportive If you have an internship programme in your organisation, support interns who are involved in youth sports and build on their sporting experiences to grow your organisation, as well as develop them. In addition, show support for staff whose children are involved in sports.
Be a 'Sports-Friendly' Employer If you believe in the inherent value of sports, be an employer that is proud to hire staff who have strong sporting backgrounds, and make this known to the youth that you might work with or speak to in your course of work. Or, try providing for your staff with young children by starting a playgroup in your organisation with sports and physical activity as its curriculum.
Be a Sponsor Youth sports needs the support of all individuals in all walks of life. Be a sponsor of a youth team, youth athlete, or a cause that promotes sports amongst youth. Build your organisation as one that looks towards leaving a legacy through people, with sports as the vehicle.
Start a Youth Category in Your Sports Event or Movement If you already have a sports event that you run regularly with your staff, add a new category that involves youths and children, and promote the values of sports participation. Have fun!
Be a Sports Leader If you are the Managing Director or Chief Executive Officer of your organisation, consider being the role model of sports in your organisation, and involve youth sports in as many different ways as possible.
